Join us for a wonderful weekend of Tantic Yoga, writing, walks and great food suitable for everyone in Autumn 2025
Where is it?
High above Ambleside, this magical retreat will take place over 3 days at Yewfield, a Victorian hotel and complex of cottages which backs onto Tarn Hows. This is the most beautiful time of year to visit the Lakes and we've had 5* reviews for all our retreats to date.
Heating and hot water is supplied by a biomass wood chip boiler (fuelled by trees 'thinned' from their own land) and the fully vegetarian hotel includes a state of the art, wood-burner-heated yoga studio complete with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, surrounded by 80 acres of private land.
Views of Lakes Windermere and Coniston lie to the front, while the remarkable Tarn Hows (pictured) is 15 mins walk to the rear. Enjoy a genuine weekend break before the Christmas rush in one of the UK's most breathtaking holiday destinations.
Yoga
All practices will be suitable for all! Tantric Yoga involves lots of free movement, fun, a space to play. During the evening, we will have a lovely long Restorative and Yin Practice.
There will also be an optional writing workshop on Saturday morning plus a guided walk on Saturday afternoon around or near to Tarn Hows. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore the area on your own too with guidance provided on local wild swimming opportunities.
Accommodation & food
Accommodation is in 4* twin hotel rooms for 2 people (single supplement available), some of which have 4 poster beds and all of which have ensuite bathrooms. Vegetarian food will be cooked and served by the in-house team (who also run acclaimed veggie restaurants, Zeffirellis and Fellinis in Ambleside) with vegan options available. The food is a genuine highlight as is the sense of being away from it all, in a genuinely serene and peaceful environment.
Meals provided will be Friday evening, breakfast and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Sandwiches will be provided for lunch on Saturday as well as a cream tea on Saturday. Total cost is £500 per person (sharing with 1 other in twin beds - double beds can be requested if you'd like to share!). Single room £650. The balance must be paid directly to Ruth in full 28 days in advance.
Optional extras
These include Sunday lunch at Top 50 Gastropub, The Drunken Duck which is 5 minutes drive from Yewfield..
Traveling to and from Yewfield
There is plenty of parking on site, and the venue is around 1.5hrs from Manchester by car. Train travel is also available - the closest station is Windermere and the venue is a 20 minute taxi ride from the station.
